INTELLIGENT STEEL SOLUTIONS APPOINTS NEW MANAGING DIRECTOR TO DRIVE NEXT PHASE OF GROWTH

Intelligent Steel Appoints New Managing Director to Drive Next Phase of Growth
Intelligent Steel Solutions has appointed Gus Houliston as its new Managing Director to drive strategic development of the business as it seeks to increase its prominence within the load bearing and SFS markets. 

Driving long-term growth, Houliston will take Intelligent Steel forward as it expands into healthcare and student accommodation markets, with its sights set on higher volume LGSF projects. He will also be prioritising component supply for the modular sector due to an increase in demand. 

Houliston has over 25 years’ experience in the construction industry in several managing and operations director positions. He spent 10 years at LNT Construction as Managing Director, where he played a pivotal role in introducing LGSF to the care and assisted living market. Other notable successes include working on 22 Bishopsgate during his time at Severfield and setting up the industrial division at Midgard, securing the business’s first PCSA for a new cruise terminal project in Southampton. 

At Intelligent Steel, he will be leading an experienced team and takes over a strong pipeline of work and will seek increase the talent pool as the business grows. 
Intelligent Steel can offer a turnkey package for its internal and external clients. With in-house design, manufacture and installation teams, Intelligent Steel offer high quality cold-formed structural steel to the construction industry. 

On his appointment, Houliston commented: “We have a strong pipeline of work and the capability to really take a hold of the market and to grow newly acquired SFS/Load Bearing and Modular LSF business. LSF has a significant role to play in helping to decarbonise the structural fabric of new and existing buildings. It lends itself to MMC, which can help the UK build much quicker and to higher quality, with enhanced sustainability and health and safety credentials.
