Cost, safety and sustainability in the spotlight

Focus on Framing, the UK's premier light steel conference, returns for 2024 with an expanded format, inviting professionals from all corners of the construction industry to learn about the advantages of light steel framing solutions.

Sponsored and hosted by the Light Steel Frame Association (LSFA), Focus on Framing has been created for specifiers, engineers, architects, contractors, housebuilders, developers and is the only specialist event in the UK totally dedicated to light steel framing.

This year's event will take place from 8.30am until 4pm in the inspirational surroundings of Birmingham's ThinkTank Science Museum on Tuesday, 14 May and will feature a number of high-profile speakers, focusing on topics including new Building Regulations, building safety and achieving circular construction using light steel framing systems.

Safe, fast and cost-effective construction

As a material, light steel framing is strong, non-combustible and does not add to the fire load of a building, so can be specified over 18 metres. Through an offsite approach, light steel panelised solutions can reduce the building programme by 30%.

Steel has excellent circular economy credentials both as a material which is strong and durable and as a structural framing system which is lightweight, adaptable, recyclable and reusable. The qualities of strength, longevity, recyclability, availability, versatility and affordability make light steel frame technology unique.

Attendees to Focus on Framing will hear from Anastasia Stella, Associate Sustainability Consultant at Waterman Group and Circuland Co-founder, who will talk about Waterman's 'Edenica' project.

Get to grips with new regulations

With new Building Regulations being introduced, amended and implemented, it is essential to keep abreast of any changes. Part O came into force in 2022 and addresses the issue of overheating and fire safety in new residential buildings in England. Focus on Framing will examine how light steel framing systems can help achieve Part O and will provide insight on how best to work within the regulations.

Interact with the industry

Another key feature of Focus on Framing will be opportunities for attendees to interact with members of the light steel framing industry. There will be three networking sessions throughout the day along with Q&A panel sessions during the conference itself. These will give attendees valuable personal insight into the innovations and ideas being discussed to help develop a greater understanding of the features and advantages of light steel framing.

Why attend?

Focus on Framing 2024 promises to be a bigger and better event than previous years, expanding from a seminar to a fully interactive conference. It will provide valuable insight on a number of important topics and will give attendees the chance to join the conversation around light steel framing.

For those with a keen focus on safe, environmentally friendly and cost-effective construction solutions, Focus on Framing is a must-attend event. Tickets to the event also include food and refreshments.

Focus on Framing will feature speakers from IStructE, CPI Code, Trowers & Hamlins, Rider Levett Bucknall, SCI, ArcelorMittal, Quadrant Building Control, Hill Group, Fusion, Morgan Sindall, Graitec, Remagin, Waterman Group, Reusefully, Tata Steel, Moduliv, Intrastack, McCarthy Stone and the Light Steel Frame Association.
