Craig_Johnson

CRAIG JOHNSON, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER, DETAILING & MANUFACTURING - TRIMBLE

Craig has over 20 years of experience in the steel industry, first as a welder fabricator, then CNC operator/programmer, having also worked at the drawing office of a steel fabricator. Before joining Trimble in 2015, Craig worked as a Senior Structural Technician for an Engineering Consultancy. He has a vast experience with the whole Steel & Precast Manufacturing workflow and is a keen DIY'er in his spare time.

Andrew_Way

ANDREW WAY, ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR - STEEL CONSTRUCTION INSTITUTE

Andrew is a structural engineer with over 25 years of experience in the steel construction sector. He manages the Light Gauge Construction and Product Assessment parts of the SCI business. He has been involved in many areas of technical development, in particular cold-formed steel, structural robustness and product assessment and certification.

Mike_Fairey

MIKE FAIREY, CHAIRMAN - LIGHT STEEL FRAME ASSOCIATION

Working in the industry since the 1980s, Mike Fairey has firmly established his reputation as an expert in offsite construction, engineering, and light steel framing. After garnering significant experience and knowledge, Mike joined the Board of The Housing Forum in 2016. His insight as a well-respected leader within the Light Steel Frame industry has provided a valued voice to the offsite sector, championing and driving education, reform, and innovation in UK housebuilding. Mike currently heads up Fusion Steel Framing, established as a market leader in complete Light Steel Frame panellised superstructures. 

Currently serving as chairman of the Light Steel Frame Association, Mike continues to use his considerable experience and understanding of industry challenges to engage with governing bodies and decision-makers.

Jaime Livingston_1

JAIME LIVINGSTON, ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR - CORSTORPHINE & WRIGHT

Jaime joined Corstorphine & Wright in 2018 and is a Chartered Architect with over 20 years of industry experience, gained across a wide range of sectors, on projects large and small, and across all RIBA Work Stages from inception to construction. As well as leading projects he chairs the Leeds Studio design forum and liaises with the technical delivery leads to engender knowledge sharing and capturing lessons learned through project reviews.

Jaime has worked in several cities across the UK, including Bath where he studied, and spent a period whilst working for NORR seconded in Dubai. Under the Erasmus exchange scheme Jaime spent a year studying in the Netherlands at TU Delft. Jaime has keen interests in regenerative urban masterplanning, venue design, designing for wellbeing and complex refurbishment schemes.

Dan_Leech

DANIEL LEECH, CEO - CADCOE & DESIGN4STRUCTURES

Daniel Leech co-founded the Construction and Design Centre of Excellence (CADCOE) in 2011, to deliver an innovative solution, towards solving the construction industry skills shortage. Now as CEO for Design4Structures, he continues to lead CADCOE alongside his structural engineering and construction modelling firm.

With more than 25 years' experience in structural steel, Daniel is a leader who is not afraid to drive for real change, always through taking action. He continuously pushes the boundaries towards more efficient and effective ways of working, through challenging and then developing solutions and business models, with a goal to create a better industry for us all.

As part of his work with CADCOE, Daniel and the team have already supported over 600 digital engineering apprentices into construction with a wide range of businesses, whilst developing powerful educational partnerships that ensure highly relevant and future-proofed opportunities are delivered to industry.


Michelle_Hannah

MICHELLE HANNAH, DIRECTOR - CAST CONSULTANCY

Michelle is a Director specialising in project management and strategic consultancy. Michelle has worked with a diverse range of clients including Housing Associations, Local Authorities and Private Developers, owning delivery responsibility of commissions through all stages of the development process including initial project brief setting, site acquisition, master planning, planning viability and the raising of equity & debt financing. Michelle has a keen interest in reinventing procurement processes to better suit project needs moving away from a standard 'one size fits all' approach.

Michelle often speaks at external events covering subjects including MMC, innovative procurement and viability. Michelle has developed a deep specialism within the Build to Rent sector and is the author of Cast's report, 'The Rental Space Race'. Michelle also initiated Cast's strategic research function, supporting Mark Farmer in the preparation of the 2016 independent review of the UK's construction labour market, commissioned by the UK Government, entitled 'Modernise or Die' and a published research paper for NHBC on Modern Methods of Construction. Michelle is a qualified accountant.


Nik Teagle_1

NIK TEAGLE, TECHNICAL DIRECTOR - FRAMECLAD

After completing a BA Hons Degree in Interior Architecture & Design from Teesside University in 1998. I entered the Architectural world to explore a passion for design. My career path changed in 2003 and I got my first introduction to work in 'Offsite Construction' in the timber frame industry.

In the same year an opportunity presented itself where I would enter the world of 'Light Steel Framing' where I would spend the next 20 years. During this time, I have spent some of my career at several light steel manufacturers and witnessed the changes/growth in the LSF sector. For six of these years, I set up and ran my own Design & Consultancy company. DACS.

I hold a position at Frameclad as Technical Director currently, utilising the skills and knowledge that I have attained during my time in this sector to drive the company forward.

Simon_Lovering

SIMON LOVERING, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER - FUSION

Joining Fusion Steel Framing in 2022 as Business Development Manager, Simon brings with him over two decades in a technical sales environment, using the wealth of knowledge gained throughout his career to offer solutions to an ever-evolving market sector.

Sally_Walsh

SALLY WALSH, SENIOR STRUCTURAL ENGINEER - WSP

Sally is a Senior Structural Engineer at WSP, with 5 years of experience designing and delivering projects throughout London. Over the past year, Sally has been focused on promoting steel reuse in her projects and throughout her company to help achieve the industry's net-zero commitments.

Sally will share her experiences as a designer and explore collaborative solutions to promote sustainable practices in industry.

Jamie_Brenton

JAMIE BRENTON, MANAGING DIRECTOR - BREBUR

Jamie is the Managing Director of Brebur, with over 30 years’ experience in the construction industry, delivering SFS and internal fit out projects for contractors throughout the North of England.

Jamie will be talking about York Hospital SFS at Focus on Framing, alongside an Etex Group representative. 

Ben_Palmer

BEN PALMER, ARCHITECTURAL SPECIFICATION MANAGER - ETEX GROUP

Architectural Specification Manager for Etex Building Performance responsible for Siniat & Promat brands including the Etex Thruwall Systems.

Ben has had 6 Years with Etex BP, and 11 years total within the Drywall and SFS sector, covering the London area. He works day to day with Architects, Main Contractors & Sub-Contractors on specification and detailing.

Ben also has 14 Years prior to this within the curtain walling industry.
