British Offsite is working with Weston Partnerships and Vertex Living to deliver a 138-bedroom purpose-built student accommodation scheme in Cambridge. Set within a single five-storey block, the project represents a £2m contract and will provide modern, secure, and comfortable homes for students.

The scheme is being built with the UNisystemLB light gauge steel system, designed for buildings for use in buildings of up to six storeys, with a maximum finished floor height of 18 metres. This advanced offsite solution allows for faster completions, ensuring students can move in on time for the new academic year. The precision-engineered panels offer long-term reliability, creating a robust, low-maintenance building that reduces future upkeep for operators.

By consolidating multiple trades into a single offsite-manufactured product, the project also benefits from faster envelope completion, reduced material waste, and improved health and safety on-site — delivering a sustainable, efficient, and high-quality outcome.
