Brent House - Intelligent Steel

PROJECT SUMMARY
This development is in partnership with Genesis Housing Association and consists of demolition of the existing building (a former council office building sited in Brent between Wembley Stadium and Wembley High Road on a 1.9 acre site) and construction of 248 apartments and c.6,000 sq. ft of retail space, around a new landscaped public plaza.

Henley Homes plc were selected as the preferred bidder for a new development of a former council office building, delivered to Notting Hill Genesis Housing Association. Situated in a prime location in one of London’s newest creative neighbourhoods, Brent House at Wembley Place, has become a recognisable asset to the community, providing much needed affordable housing to the borough, opening up access to surrounding streets and connecting communities. The close working relationship between Intelligent Steel and Henley Homes is exemplary. The sharing of information, the planning and scheduling of deliveries to site, allowed the project team to maintain control over the supply chain which significantly benefitted the development – reducing costs, time of delivery and health and safety risks due to less workmen on site.

DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION
248 apartments, 7 to 10 storey mixed-use scheme across 5 blocks. Load bearing panelised construction with lattice joist flooring. Co-ordinated services, stairs, and balconies off podium deck

PROJECT SUCCESSES

Design co-ordination direct with Henley Architectural team allowed for improved information flow An extremely tight site on a busy thoroughfare to the national stadium meant fully co-ordinated deliveries was the only option without disruption to neighbours and businesses alike.

Brent House has been shortlisted in the 2021 Offsite Awards which will be announced at the ceremony on 21 September at the Ricoh Arena Coventry.
